Dr. Walker and leaders from the Comprehensive Stroke team at Harborview Medical Center visited the Port of Seattle Fire Department to share what happens once EMS teams drop a stroke patient off at the hospital. The fire department at the Port of Seattle respond to lots of medical emergencies for those traveling in and out of Seattle. They had a chance to see what happens in the OR and practice pulling out clots with the help of Stryker. It was a hands on morning with engaged teams who share the same goal of responding quickly to a stroke or possible stroke and giving patients the best possible outcome.
