How to Apply

Important Requirements for Summer Program Applicants:

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older by the first day of the program.
     
  • You must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident. Visa holders are not eligible.
     
  • Undergraduate university/college students: May apply if they are 18 years of age or older and are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Graduate students are not eligible.
     
  • High school students: May apply if they will be 18 years of age or older by the first day of the program and are U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
     
  • Applicants must provide both their overall GPA and STEM GPA on the application. A minimum GPA of 3.2 for both is required.
     
  • Current immunizations (measles/mumps/rubella, varicella, hepatitis B) and a TB test result valid through the program end date are required.
     
  • Out-of-area students who indicate they need program-sponsored housing will be provided UW housing but will be responsible for their own meals and transportation.
Required Application Materials:
  1. Letter of Interest: Addressed to the Selection Committee, this letter should express your interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and include a narrative explaining why you are interested in the program.
     
  2. Current Resume
     
  3. Unofficial Transcript
     
  4. At least one letter of recommendation: This must be from a faculty member in STEM. Recommendations do not have a specific word or length requirement.
