The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke has awarded a $10 million grant to the Four Corners Youth Consortium, a group researching concussions in children. 

Congratulations to Dr. David Pitkethly, Professor Emeritus of Neurological Surgery, on his new role as President of the Western Neurosurgical Society (WNS)!

Dr. Ellenbogen was named the 2021 Cloward Award Recipient by the Western Neurosurgical Society.

The National Institute of Aging, part of the National Institutes of Health, is awarding a grant expected to total $55.6 million to the Adult Changes in Thought study (ACT), led by the University of Washington, Kaiser Permanente Washington and the University of California San Diego.

Congratulations to Dr. Barros whose proposal, “Modeling effect of hemodynamic changes on endothelial transcriptional profile of cerebral aneurysms after endovascular flow diversion treatment,” was selected to receive the $15,000 Robert J. Dempsey, MD Cerebrovascular Resident Research Award.

Congratulations to Dr. Sen, whose proposal “Using single cell RNA sequencing to delineate the cellular and subcellular mechanisms behind intracranial aneurysm formation and progression” was selected to receive the $25000 SNIS Young Investigator Research Grant.
