Richard G. Ellenbogen, MD, FACS

Richard G. Ellenbogen, MD, FACS

Richard G. Ellenbogen, MD, FACS is Professor and Theodore S. Roberts Endowed Chair of the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington. He is an attending surgeon at Harborview Medical Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital and University of Washington Medical Center. He is also Director of the UW Medicine Neurosciences Institute. In addition, he is Director of the Neurological Surgery Residency Program and Founding Co-Director of the Seattle Sports Concussion Program, a joint program sponsored by Seattle Children’s Hospital and UW Medicine.

Patrick Fillingham, PhD

Patrick Fillingham, PhD, is an engineering researcher and Assistant Professor in the UW Department of Neurological Surgery. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from UW, working in the Novosselov Research Group on applied fluid dynamics research. He has joined the Neurological Surgery Department to work with the Stroke and Applied NeuroScience Center, using computational fluid dynamics to study the hemodynamics of cerebrovascular and cardiovascular diseases.

Jeffrey Herron, PhD

Jeffrey Herron, PhD, is an engineering-focused researcher and assistant professor within the UW Department of Neurological Surgery. He received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington and worked within the BioRobotics Lab on adaptive deep brain stimulation techniques to improve treatments for both Essential Tremor and Parkinson’s Disease. After concluding his PhD studies, he worked at Medtronic developing new research tools for enhancing neuromodulation research.

Nancy R. Temkin, PhD

Nancy R. Temkin, PhD

Dr. Temkin is a UW professor with appointments in the Department of Neurological Surgery and the Department of Biostatistics and an adjunct appointment in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine.  She is a biostatistician and has particular expertise in the epidemiology and outcome of traumatic brain injury (TBI).

John R. Silber, PhD

John R. Silber, PhD

I have a long-standing interest in DNA-repair-mediated resistance to alkylating agents and radiation in human brain tumors, and have directed a number of translationally relevant projects that investigate strategies to circumvent resistance. I have broad training and experience in DNA repair, radiobiology and DNA replication, and a long history of directing NIH- and foundation-funded grants key research areas for our proposal.

Jim Pridgeon, MHA

Jim Pridgeon, MHA

Mr. Pridgeon is involved in development and editing of research grants, publications and web content. Also, he is involved with marketing and contributes to NIH sponsored research capacity-building efforts in Latin America by supporting grant writing and publications with the Latin American Brain Injury Consortium.

He has 30 years experience in research administration and has helped raise over $100 million for neuroscience research.

George Ojemann, MD

Dr. Ojemann received his undergraduate and doctorate degrees at the University of Iowa College of Medicine. After completing his neurological surgery residency at University of Washington medical centers, he began a distinguished career as a neurosurgeon and researcher specializing in epilepsy, joining the University of Washington faculty in 1966.
