Dr. Matthew Recker was born in Pittsburgh, PA and grew up in central Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Pittsburgh for his undergraduate education, graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. He completed medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society for his academic achievements. He then went on to complete his neurosurgery residency at the University at Buffalo, which included an enfolded fellowship in Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery. Dr.

Dr. Emerson is an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery who specializes in brain tumors of all types, including skull base tumors, gliomas and metastases. He works closely with colleagues in Otolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, Neuro-oncology and Radiation Oncology to provide multidisciplinary care to brain tumor patients. Dr. Emerson received his MD and PhD at the University of Washington, and subsequently completed two fellowships at Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital: one in Skull Base Neurosurgery and one in Neuro-oncology and Clinical Trials.

Imad S. Khan, MD, MPH is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington. He is a neurosurgeon specializing in complex spine surgery with a focus on minimally invasive techniques. His primary clinical focus is on the surgical treatment of degenerative, traumatic, infectious, and neoplastic spinal disorders.

Dr. Stephanie H Chen, MD is an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery who specializes in cerebrovascular, endovascular, and brain tumors at the University of Washington and Harborview Medical Center. She graduated from New York University, summa cum laude with a B.S. in neuroscience. She received her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh with highest honors and completed residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. She completed two cerebrovascular/endovascular fellowships at the University of Miami and University of Washington. Dr.

Dr. Jacob Ruzevick is an assistant professor of Neurological Surgery and fellowship trained neuro-oncology and skull base surgeon at the University of Washington School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his medical doctorate from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in neurological surgery at the University of Washington and fellowship in skull base and minimal invasive cranial surgical oncology at the University of Southern California under the guidance of Dr. Gabriel Zada.

Robert T. Buckley, MD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington.

Richard G. Ellenbogen, MD, FACS is Professor and Theodore S. Roberts Endowed Chair of the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington. He is an attending surgeon at Harborview Medical Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital and University of Washington Medical Center. He is also Director of the UW Medicine Neurosciences Institute. In addition, he is Director of the Neurological Surgery Residency Program and Founding Co-Director of the Seattle Sports Concussion Program, a joint program sponsored by Seattle Children’s Hospital and UW Medicine.

Anubhav Amin, MD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington. He is a neurosurgeon specializing in spine surgery with a focus on spinal oncology.
