
Dr. Matthew Recker is an attending neurosurgeon at Seattle Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor of neurological surgery at the University of Washington.
Dr. Recker was born in Pittsburgh, PA and grew up in central Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Pittsburgh for his undergraduate education, graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience. He received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society for his academic achievements. He then went on to complete his neurosurgery residency at the University at Buffalo, which included an enfolded fellowship in functional and stereotactic neurosurgery, followed by a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at Seattle Children’s Hospital and the University of Washington.
Dr. Recker specializes in the surgical treatment of children with central nervous system disorders, including hydrocephalus, tumors, epilepsy, movement disorders, Chiari malformations, spina bifida, and other congenital malformations.
