Michael Levitt, M.D. is a professor of neurological surgery and radiology and an adjunct professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Washington. Dr. Levitt graduated summa cum laude from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, completed his neurological surgery residency at the University of Washington and completed additional fellowship training in endovascular neurosurgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix. Dr. Amy Lee is a professor of neurological surgery and an attending neurosurgeon at Seattle Children's Hospital. Dr. Lee received her undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary. She then received her M.D. from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She went on to complete a seven-year neurological surgery residency at Washington University in St.
Dr. Ko is an associate professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery and the chief of the Neurological Surgery Service at the University of Washington Medical Center. In addition to general neurosurgery, he specializes in functional and restorative neurosurgery, epilepsy and neurosurgery for pain. Dr. Ko also conducts research in the areas of deep brain stimulation (DBS) and epilepsy.
Dr. Kim is Vice Chairman and Professor of Neurological Surgery, and is Chief of the Neurological Surgery Service at Harborview Medical Center. He is part of a select group of neurosurgeons across the country fellowship-trained in both open vascular/skull base microsurgery and endovascular techniques for the treatment of cerebrovascular and spinal vascular diseases.
Christoph P. Hofstetter, MD, PhD is a professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of Washington. He is a neurosurgeon specializing in complex spine surgery with an emphasis on minimally invasive techniques. His primary clinical focus is on the surgical treatment of degenerative spinal disorders, including disc herniation, lumbar spondylolisthesis and cervical myelopathy, as well as, spinal oncology.
Dr. Gelfenbeyn is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery who practices at the Puget Sound VA Health System’s Seattle Campus. He was born and grew up in Moscow, Russia. After graduating medical school, he worked at the Moscow Sklifosovsky Emergency Care Institute where he was Chief of Neurosurgery. Dr. Gelfenbeyn immigrated to the US at the end of 2000 and completed a residency and fellowship at the University of Washington Department of Neurological Surgery.
Dr. Manuel Ferreira is an attending neurosurgeon at the University of Washington Medical Center, co-director of Skull Base and Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery, Director of UW Medicine Multi-disciplinary Pituitary Program and a UW Professor of Neurological Surgery. He is the surgical director of the UW Medicine Multi-Disciplinary Pituitary Program. He received his training at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where he received specialized neurosurgical training in the treatment of neurofibromatosis and acoustic neuromas (vestibular schwannomas) with Dr.
Based at Harborview Medical Center, Dr. Chesnut is a UW professor with appointments in both the Department of Neurological Surgery and the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. He has particular expertise in surgery and critical care for traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, failed back surgery, and adult spondylolisthesis, as well as sports-related spine and brain injuries.
