CONCLUSIONS: After acute msTBI, prior TBI history is independently associated with in-hospital mortality but not with mortality or unfavorable outcomes within 12 months after injury. This selective association underscores the importance of collecting standardized prior TBI history data early after acute hospitalization to inform risk stratification. CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: The findings suggest that infants born to mothers with obesity are at increased risk of SUID, with a dose-dependent association between increasing maternal BMI and SUID risk. Maternal obesity should be added to the list of known risk factors for SUID. With maternal obesity rates increasing, research should identify potential causal mechanisms for this association.

CONCLUSIONS: Extracranial complications are common following TBI. ICP monitoring and treatment are related to extra-cranial complications. This supports the need for reassessing the risk-benefit balance of our current management approaches in the interest of improving outcome.

CONCLUSIONS: This study revealed low utilization of CNS prophylaxis and CNS-IPI documentation in a community hospital system. Given large differences between groups, claims of CNS prophylaxis efficacy are unable to be made. CNS relapse rates were consistent with existing literature and promote continued evaluation of the utility of current CNS prophylaxis approaches in DLBCL. New unambiguously effective therapeutic approaches are needed and may encourage a higher rate of standardized use.

CONCLUSIONS: There were no significant associations between early dexmedetomidine exposure and day 3 brain injury biomarkers in msTBI. Our findings suggest that early dexmedetomidine use is not correlated with either decrease or increase in brain injury biomarkers following msTBI. Further research is necessary to confirm these findings.
