Twenty years ago, Dr. Sekhar performed a series of surgeries for a clival chordoma that would give his patient a “full and interesting life”. The patient has had no recurrence to date and has been able to live life to the fullest.
“Dear Dr. Sekhar,
20 years ago you did a series of surgeries on me for a clival chordoma, and I’m VERY happy to report that I’ve had no recurrence to date! I’m so very fortunate to have had a full and interesting life since then – I’ve gotten to see our child grow up and become a lovely adult, we’ve volunteered for organizations we feel make the world a better place, we’ve traveled, and have experienced many remarkable things. We’re currently in our fourth year volunteering as wilderness rangers for the Forest Service in the North Cascade Mountains. I’m grateful every day for the life I have and the extra time I’ve gotten. None of this, of course, would have happened without your skill and expertise. So I wanted to write to say thank you for the surgeries, your skill, your help, your kindness, and for these last 20 years of life!
With much, much gratitude…”
This is a wonderful reminder that the work we do has real-world impacts. Thank you to everyone making a difference in our patient’s lives!
