CONCLUSIONS: Postoperative remote patient monitoring and communication after full endoscopic surgery is feasible using the SPINEhealthie app. Importantly, patients were willing to share their medical information using a mobile device, and they were eager to use it postoperatively as a supplementary tool.

CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: The findings of this simulation-modeling economic study suggest that offering any MOUD to incarcerated individuals with OUD would prevent overdose deaths and that offering all 3 MOUDs would prevent more deaths and save money compared with an XR-naltrexone-only strategy.

Excess death estimates have great value in public health, but they can be sensitive to analytical choices. Here we propose a multiverse analysis approach that considers all possible different time periods for defining the reference baseline and a range of 1 to 4 years for the projected time period for which excess deaths are calculated. We used data from the Human Mortality Database on 33 countries with detailed age-stratified death information on an annual basis during the period 2009-2021. The...

CONCLUSION: The use of enteral nutrition in the neonatal and pediatric population while on ECMO has the potential to improve survival rates and reduce complications. Further studies are needed to investigate how to optimize this population's nutrition and develop feeding protocols and pathways.

CONCLUSIONS: The uniportal robotic-assisted approach, when completed in expert hands, has been illustrated to have exceedingly low rates of conversion to secondary procedures, along with short length of stay (LOS), minimal blood loss, and short procedural times (variable depending on operation type). Current evidence on the feasibility of this approach will be bolstered by upcoming multi-institutional series.

CONCLUSIONS: Loss of TREK channels did not alter anesthetic sensitivity in mice, nor did it eliminate isoflurane-induced transmembrane currents. However, the isoflurane-induced currents are norfluoxetine-resistant in Trek mutants, indicating that other channels may function in this role when TREK channels are deleted.

CONCLUSIONS: By providing the organizational characteristics of sites participating in the MOMs study, this report assists in filling the current gap in knowledge regarding similar programs providing services to PPI with OUD. Collaborative care programs such as those participating in MOMs are uniquely positioned to participate in research to determine the most effective models of care and to determine how research can be integrated into those clinical care settings.

Gene regulation plays essential roles in all multicellular organisms, allowing for different specialized tissue types to be generated from a complex genome. Heterochromatin-driven gene repression, associated with a physical compaction of the genome, is a pathway involving core components that are conserved from yeast to human. Posttranslational modification of chromatin is a critical component of gene regulation. Specifically, tri-methylation of the nucleosome component histone 3 at lysine 9...

CONCLUSION: Cervical endoscopic spine surgery is gaining traction among spine surgeons. However, by far most surgeons performing cervical endoscopic spine surgery work in private practice and are autodidacts. This lack of a teacher to shorten the learning curve as well as fear of complications are two of the major impediments to the successful implementation of cervical endoscopic procedures.

CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: In this multicenter effectiveness-implementation nonrandomized trial, rates of ED-initiated buprenorphine and engagement in OUD treatment were higher in the IF period, especially among patients who received ED-initiated buprenorphine.

CONCLUSIONS AND RELEVANCE: We used the largest existing cohort of patients with DoC after TBI to develop, test and externally validate a prediction model of 1-year dependency. The model’s sensitivity and negative predictive value were greater than specificity and positive predictive value. Accuracy was diminished in an external sample, but equivalent to the best-available models. Further research is needed to improve dependency prediction in patients with DoC after TBI.

CONCLUSION: Pretreatment IVT was not associated with an increased risk of hemorrhage in patients with large core infarct treated with MT. Future studies are needed to assess the safety and efficacy of bridging therapy in patients with large core infarct.

Defining the mechanisms safeguarding cell fate identity in differentiated cells is crucial to improve 1) - our understanding of how differentiation is maintained in healthy tissues or altered in a disease state, and 2) - our ability to use cell fate reprogramming for regenerative purposes. Here, using a genome-wide transcription factor screen followed by validation steps in a variety of reprogramming assays (cardiac, neural and iPSC in fibroblasts and endothelial cells), we identified a set of...

CONCLUSIONS: Black individuals who have TBI and chronic pain, and who have public insurance, may be vulnerable to difficulties managing pain. They are more likely to cope by catastrophizing, and catastrophizing is related to worse participation outcomes. The results suggest that access to care may affect response to chronic pain after TBI.

Immunotherapy has shifted the paradigm of cancer treatment. However, the majority of cancer patients display de novo or acquired resistance to immunotherapy. One of the main mechanisms of immunotherapy resistance is the immunosuppressive microenvironment dominated by the myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs). Emerging evidence demonstrates that genetic or epigenetic aberrations in cancer cells shape the accumulation and activation of MDSCs. Understanding this genotype-immunophenotype...

Background. Electrical neuromodulation remains an effective therapy for multiple neurological disorders. One strategy to electrically stimulate nerves utilizes the interference of multiple high frequency waveforms. This technique, known as temporal interference stimulation or interferential current stimulation, has recently gained significant attention as a method to improve the state-of-the-art in neurostimulation in both animal studies and human clinical trials.Objective.Here we report our...
