Denis Routkevitch, MD, PhD

Denis Routkevitch completed his MD/PhD at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where his doctoral work in biomedical engineering focused on ultrasound monitoring of spinal cord perfusion. Working with Nicholas Theodore, MD, and Nitish Thakor, PhD, he developed a system for closed-loop vasopressor titration for individualized MAP management in acute SCI, published in Nature Biomedical Engineering. For his graduate work, he was recognized as a 2025 Siebel Scholar.

Anne Lally, MD

Anne Lally, MD

Anne Lally was born and raised in South Jersey. She received her BA in anthropology and biology with a minor in chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She then attended Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, New York, where she was heavily involved in the student-run ECHO Free Clinic for uninsured New Yorkers and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and awarded the Dean's recognition award. Thomas “Tom” Hanks was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, and moved to Anchorage, Alaska, prior to high school. He later attended Arizona State University in Tempe, earning a degree in exercise science before matriculating to the University of Washington School of Medicine as part of the Alaska WWAMI cohort. During medical school, Tom conducted clinical outcomes research with the Virginia Mason Department of Neurosciences and Spine and the University of Washington Department of Neurological Surgery. Chiagoziem Anigbogu, MD

Chiagoziem Anigbogu, MD

Chiagoziem Anigbogu was born in Enugu, Nigeria, and immigrated to the United States at age five, growing up in St. Paul, Minnesota. He graduated cum laude from Macalester College in 2021 with a B.A. in Religious Studies and Biology, where he competed in NCAA soccer and track and field and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He earned his M.D. from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2026 and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha.

Logan Muzyka, MD

Logan Muzyka, MD

Logan was born and raised in Texas. She received her B.S. in Neuroscience and English with a minor in Chemistry from Trinity University in 2021. She received her MD from Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. During her 3rd year of medical school, she spent a dedicated research year at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she worked under the mentorship of Dr. Cahill studying radiation sensitivity in IDH-mutant gliomas.

Anthony Maxin, MD

Anthony Maxin, MD

Anthony was born and raised in Seattle. He attended the University of Washington where he graduated with a BS in Biochemistry. He attended medical school at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. Prior to and throughout medical school, he helped to develop a smartphone application-based pupillometer using computer vision, traditional machine learning, and transformer-based artificial intelligence to serve as a digital biomarker of neurological disease. This work was conducted in the lab of Dr. Michael Levitt at the University of Washington and under the mentorship of Dr. Lynn McGrath.

Meredith Costello, MD

Meredith Costello, MD

Meredith was born and raised in Sioux Falls, SD. She attended the University of Miami where she studied Biology and Chemistry. During her undergraduate education, she was also a member of the women's NCAA DI rowing team. After graduating Summa Cum Laude, she continued her education at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine as a part of the Medical Scholars Program. Her clinical interests include all aspects of cranial and spinal neurosurgery. She is excited to be joining the University of Washington for her neurosurgical training.

Malek Bashti, MD

Malek Bashti, MD

Malek Bashti was born and raised in the Bay Area, California. He completed his undergraduate studies at UC San Diego, as a member of the NCAA men's soccer team. Malek earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he conducted outcomes research in spine surgery under the tutelage of Dr. Michael Wang. In his spare time, Malek is an avid cyclist and enjoys cooking with friends and family. He is fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Persian. 

Kevin Vanent, MD

Kevin Vanent, MD

Kevin was born in Renton, WA and raised throughout southern King County. He attended Brown University where he graduated magna cum laude with a BSc in Neuroscience. Prior to medical school, he studied how common genetic variants influence the risk and outcome of cerebrovascular disease as a research associate at the Yale School of Medicine.
