Evgeniya was born in Omsk, Russia. She came to the United States as an exchange student when she was 16 years old and then decided to continue pursuing higher education here. She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a BSN degree in 2012 and subsequently worked as a homecare RN in New Jersey. While in college, she was a member of the NCAA fencing team, studied chitosan nanoparticle properties in the lab, and volunteered as an EMT for the local ambulance corps. Subsequently, she attended Yale School of Medicine where she earned her MD and MHS degrees in 2019. While at Yale, she completed a year-long research fellowship at Dr. Murat Gunel’s lab focusing on investigating meningioma genomics. She also performed functional neurosurgery research, studying resting state connectivity in neocortical epilepsy and analyzing EEG patterns in focal cortical dysplasia. In her spare time, Evgeniya enjoys skating, watching soccer, playing guitar, and traveling.
