Traditionally, traumatic brain injuries were classified as mild, moderate and severe but this is a vague system based on different clinical definitions and doesn’t take unique patient factors into account. A new classification system that includes blood biomarkers, lifestyle and other factors can lead to more accurate and consistent diagnoses.
