Spine tumors may be intrinsic to the spinal cord or nerve roots or they may be metastatic tumors from cancer elsewhere in the body, such as the lung or breast. The patient presents with pain and a variety of neurological symptoms; the tumors are diagnosed with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), sometimes using contrast material.
